How Long Does Delta 8 Stay In Your Body?
One of the concerns for many people with the use of specific types of cannabinoids, including Delta 8 THC, is the possibility of having to complete a drug test at work. There are many different companies that complete random drug testing of employees. Employers can set their own drug testing requirements, and workers can be fired for a failed drug test.
Even though Delta 8 THC is legal under the 2018 Farm Bill and has less than 0.3% THC, it can result in a positive test for the presence of THC. This is the same as a full spectrum CBD product that can trigger a positive test for THC.
Important Information
After ingesting, vaping, or using a tincture that contains Delta 8 THC, most individuals will feel the effects for four to six hours. The type of formulation, the potency, and the method used will all impact how quickly the effects are noted.
The process of metabolizing Delta 8 results in byproducts known as metabolites. These metabolites are what a drug test shows as a positive. They are THC metabolites, which will create a positive test if they are present in the concentrations the drug panel is able to detect.
The level of these metabolites decreases over time. The majority of these compounds are eliminated from the body in the urine about five days after use. This will vary between individuals depending on frequency of use. There can be residual amounts of the Delta 8 THC metabolites in the body for more than ten days and possibly more than thirty days for those who have used Delta 8 products for a significant amount of time.
